Dear Guys and Girls,
I am about to make you really, really happy. If you are someone, who, like myself, has been desperately searching for thrill and excitement in menswear, read on - this post is for you.
It is my ultimate pleasure to present to you Ninh Nguyen - the mastermind behind what very well might be the coolest brand of American contemporary menswear scene, aptly titled, the NINH COLLECTION.

When "Russian Chicago" magazine approached me with request to interview me for their cover story last month, there was not a doubt in my mind as to what I'd be wearing for the cover:

Seamlessly merging traditional London fit with the contemporary and fresh style of Japan, and the chic mode of Korea, Ninh Nguyen creates a look that becomes the epitome of "cool".Leonid Gurevich is wearing NINH Collection coat. Hat by Anya Caliendo. Photo: Alena Soboleva |

LEONID GUREVICH: How did it all start for you, Ninh?
NINH NGUYEN: I was born and raised in Paris, so I always had a sense of style and a love for fashion. At the age of 9, my family and I moved to the States, to follow the American Dream. I grew up in Texas and received my Bachelors in Science and minor in Psychology, but medical school was not my passion. I decided to pack my bags and move to NYC to pursue men's fashion.
LEONID: What is your designer's philosophy?
NINH: To me, it's all about the style and fit. The silhouette of a jacket is so important as it builds confidence and resonates comfort. Fashion can be bought; style one must possess. But for me, the clothes that I design are wearable yet we like to use a lot of detailing. Why wear a blazer that 20 other guys have when you can be the one that stands out from the crowd?
LEONID: Who are your top three celebrities, who you wanna see wearing your line?
NINH: Brad Goreski, Chris Brown, and Ed Westwick.
LEONID: What are three most important things for you as an artist?
NINH: As an artist, you have to be extremely passionate about what you do. There's a fine line between an established artist and an up-and-coming talent. Everything is about luck, timing, and connections.
I cannot stress how much I think designers need to know how to sketch, make patterns, do construction, know how to sew, and most importantly, know the business of Fashion. All these skills assets will build a prominent designer.
To me, it doesn't matter where one's inspiration comes from. I can sit at a coffee shop in SoHo and watch people pass by, and easily get inspired by their style and clothes. Sometimes I can even get inspiration from the colors of sushi, or admire the vertical lines of archiecture builduings. At times, I don't even have any inspiration, but I just design whatever I feel like designing.
LEONID: What shocks you?
NINH: Fashion can be crazy. But what's crazy without Fashion?

Creatively Yours,
Leonid
